The seaside town of Annoville has a rich and varied heritage. In addition to its manor houses, dating back to a number of different periods, the town is home to a church, part of which dates back to the eleventh cenutry, a castle built in 1700, which once belonged to the Annoville family and a presbyterian manor. The dunes of Annoville are a magical spot for walking and are popular with bike riders and walkers on their way to Mont St Michel. The dunes overlook a long stretch of sandy beach. At low tide, the beach is covered in oyster and mussel beds. After market gardening, fishing used to be Annoville's second largest industry. There used to be a large number of fish farmers, sailors and fish dealers. In 1970, these fishing grounds began to be replaced by mussel beds.
