La Teste-de-Buch

Nestled on the banks of the south of the Bay of Arcachon and the Atlantic Ocean, the seaside resort of La Teste de Buch is the largest town in the Bay. La Teste de Buch is home to 25,000 inhabitants and spans 26,000 hectares (64,247 acres) of remarkable landscapes. It is the sixth largest village in France in terms of size. La Teste de Buch is perhaps best known for the Dune du Pilat, the largest sand dune in Europe. Not surprisingly, this exceptional natural site has been turned into an conservation area. The village also boasts a lively heritage and offers a wide choice of activities and events. Other attractions include the zoo, renowned for its wild cats, an excellent market and a racecourse.
