Villefranche-sur-Mer

This village combines the charm of Provence and the prestige of the Riviera. Tucked away in the heart of one of the most beautiful harbours in the world, Villefranche sur Mer is a haven of peace. Created in 1295 by Charles II of Anjou, the village has managed to retain all of its picturesque charm from throughout the centuries. The warm colours of the Mediterranean façades, the steep little old-fashioned streets, the citadel and the rare works of Cocteau, Volti and Goetz are just some of the treasures to discover. Visitors can also take advantage of the large choice of shops, which sell a wide range of local produce, olive oils, wines, jewellery, clothes and perfumes.
