Nice

Nice stretches between sea and mountains, in the Provence-Alpes-French Riviera region, on the south eastern point of France, about 30km (18.5 miles) from the Italian border. In addition to its numerous natural treasures, Nice, as the capital of the Riviera, offers all the facilities of a regional capital. Nice is home to the second largest airport in France and has the second largest hotel capacity with a wide range of luxury hotels, a number of business districts, an opera, a national theatre, numerous museums, a university, one of the France's largest multimedia libraries, two convention centres, numerous concert halls and the internationally renowned Promenade des Anglais. The town is also proud of its strong local identity, which results from its troubled history and autonomous insititutions.
